Llandegfedd Social Events
Llandegfedd SC is not large enough to run lots of social events. We don't have our own bar, and the Watersports Centre is not conducive to hanging around for a long time after sailing.
Having said that - we are a lot more sociable than we used to be! The Sunday Racing Programme is carefully set up so that we can eat our packed lunches together between races, normally about 13:00 before a 14:00 race. Once the warmer weather arrives we can sit on the balcony and enjoy the breeze and sunshine.
Wednesday evenings are also a very sociable time. We race for about an hour and then go to the Farmers' Arms at Llandegfedd village a couple of miles away. We are welcomed there. This gives us time to discuss the races and in general put the world to rights. This is from late March to early Spetember, whilst there is light in the evenings.
We have also set up a series of Saturdays where we will come and have a sail. No Racing. We will have a patrol boat on the water, and will take turns in manning it. There is no charge for these days, no instruction, just a group of friends sailing together. These Saturdays will normally be in parallel with the Adult Training, and hence there could well be fewer club "Adult Boats" such as the 2000s available to sail. We have stacks of Toppers and the three Fevas so there are still boats available.
We have put the Social Sailing detail under the "Training" section of the web site - see the Training Schedule It is a bit of a work-in-progress at the moment. We will add in some dates where we might go and race as a club, such as Coppet Week at Saundersfoot, Tenby Regatta and Round the Island Race, maybe even Southport 24 hours race?
