Llandegfedd Sailing Club 50th Anniversary Weekend, 2018, Sponsored by Kingstone Brewery
We held a special Dinner on Saturday 21 July in the VIsitor Centre where we reminisced over the first 50 years of the club. We had lots of photographs of the club's development over the years. Some fo the pictures will be brought here soon.
We were blessed with exceptionally fine weather for the weekend. However, whilst useful for stopping up sun tan, it had no wind at all on Saturday. We managed two races on the SUnday, so we will defer the Llandegfedd Pin race to another time.
Start times etc. on the 21st and 22nd July 2018 are held within the Notice of Race, below.

Pont Kemys campsite. This is well located in the lovely Usk Valley, 300 yards from a pub. There are not many camp sites in our area of South Wales. However, this is a good one.
Whitehall farm, Caerleon This is for those who are Camping and Caravanning Club members - but it looks nice!
|Other types of accommodation||We suggest you use the accommodation lists at SailRacer. Sailracer link for Llandegfedd Sailing Club. Click on Accommodation to see everything from the nearby Pontypool Metro Hotel to Bed and Breakfasts to the Celtic Manor - recommended by a certain Barack Obama!
|Local Attractions (for non-sailing partners?)||Here is a quick summary of some local attractions to while away the time when waiting for the sailing to finish. Blaenafon is a World Heritage Site because of its industrial past. Some things to do whilst your partner is sailing|

General Club data can be found on this web site under the menu "Club" and from the front page. The reservoir is owned run by Welsh Water, and the club is one of may users of the Watersports Centre. At the gate near the dam wall, tell the Rangers that you are taking part in the sailing event and they should let you through without the need to pay any day permit fee.
The Llandegfedd Pin Race has been fiercely contested since 1968. It used to come full of beer, but as it aged this became less palatable and substitutions have been made. It has had some worthy winners, typically after a long race and twisty courses. Here is a link to the previous winners of this prestigious trophy Previous Llandegfedd Pin Winners Will you be next?
