The Season's Racing program for 2020

This program was agreed at the AGM on 15 February 2020. We have taken into account the survey run over the Christmas 2019 period. Compromises have been struck.

The times indicate the race START, not the Warning flag. For Open Events, registration and briefing will be in advance of these times. Please refer to the Event Notice of Race for details.

  • Eligible Boats
  • All monohull dinghys up to 20 foot in length.
  • The results for a given helm, in one dinghy class and one rig combination will count towards series results, except for Youth and Junior (see S.I.s)
  • All series results for a given helm will count towards championship results.
  • The Club handicaps for a given season will normally be used. (see Handicaps web page)
  • Signing On
  • Whilst it is not a club requirement that all competitors sign on before each race it is the responsibility of competitors to ensure that the OOD knows who is helming a given boat. Accordingly those new to the Club or not racing their usual boat must ensure the OOD is aware of names and any changes. If not they may not get a result.
  • Pursuit Racing Results
  • It can sometimes be difficult for OODs to accurately establish all positions at the end of a Pursuit race so competitors should assist by noting which boat finished directly ahead and directly behind and advise the OOD accordingly. This is a requirement stated in the Sailing Instructions, Section 8. Sailing Instructions

Remember that you (or your child) join in a race at your own risk. It is your responsibility to check the weather and boat and decide whether it is safe to sail
