BCR Table for 2008 Season

Below is a table showing every sailors average sailed PY rating for the year. This is calculated from the BCR for each race, where the winner gets awarded their actual offical RYA PY, and all the others are given a rating that if applied would have put them equal in time with the winner. Or to put it another way the BCR rating given is the rating that is necessary for a sailor to tie with the race winner. This table shows an average PY rating, and is not dependent on whether the sailor sailed in 1 race or 61 races. The last column marks those sailors who have less then 5 races making up their average. The ratio column shows the ratio of the average sailed rating to the offical RYA rating. A value of 1 means you won every race you entered. Which is rather easier to achieve if you sailed in 1 race rather than 61, so for example Myles only sailed in Race 1 of the Late Wednesday series and won it, so he gets a ratio of 1.0. Sara sailed in races 8 & 9 of the Autumn series with only 3 conventional boats racing and she won both.
Robin's record of winning 22 of 23 races is much more difficult to achieve and very enviable. In general it is easier to achieve a better ratio in the Conventional fleet where many less boats sail than in the Asymmetric fleet.
