Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy

Llandegfedd Sailing Club promotes the safe enjoyment of sailing. As an RYA recognised Training Establishment we are fully aware of our responsibilities to Children and Vulnerable adults.

We have an agreed Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy that is in line with the RYA Recommendations. There is also a Club Code of Conduct which applies to club Instructors and Coaches, Participants, including children, and their Parents. Here it is; Code of Conduct 2024 We hope everyone will recognise this as common sense and general politeness and civility. 

Our Instructors are trained to be aware of Child Protection Issues.

We have two appointed Child Protection Officers, who are available if you have any concerns at all about the treatment of Children or Vulnerable adults. Contact Rachel or Abbey on   cpo@llandegfedd.org.uk

Sailing should be safe and fun.

Children and young people have a right to be treated with respect, and should show respect to others.

If you are a young person, parent or club member and are worried about the way another young person or an adult is treating you or someone else, you can talk to Rebecca or Andrea as your Safeguard Officers for the club. We are at the club on most training or race days and can be contacted through (link to contact)
